Historic Madison Theater Goes Up For Sale, But The Movies Will Go On

As featured on NewJerseyHills.com…

Just to the right of the marquee for the latest “Star Wars” movie at Madison Cinema 4 on Lincoln Place is a sign that has puzzled many. In large, black, bold letters it reads, “For Sale.”

But fortunately there will still be movies, as Bow Tie Cinemas will continue to lease the space at 14 Lincoln Place.

Ed Flanagan, a vice president in the Chatham-based Garibaldi Group, confirmed Tuesday that he listed the theater on Oct. 21. He said the whole 11,000-square-foot building is for sale, but Bow Tie Cinemas, which leases the first floor of the building, is staying. The building is owned by the Madison Commercial Corporation.
