Jersey City has been in the spotlight recently, as development in the Downtown / Journal Square area has seen a huge increase over the last year alone. According to The Wall Street Journal 5,609 units are currently under construction in the Journal Square and Downtown this year. This amount is almost double the amount during the same time last year and represents a record breaking amount of construction underway in the area, which has been for years considered the next “it neighborhood” in the ever sprawling run off of people looking for urban living with close connections to Manhattan.
